Greetings
August will see me Celebrating two
years of ministry in Wolstanton and Audley Methodist Circuit.
Many joys and sorrows I have shared with you all and we have
supported each other. Please accept my gratitude and
thanks.
In 23 months I will have officiated at three
weddings, 45 funerals and 42 baptisms quite a task but such a
privilege. This is the church's mission to share the Love of
God and neighbour bringing the Good News into the realism of society
today. It is a joy to hear a child shouting my name
across the street, or in village shop and those shy children who tug
at their parent's sleeve whispering 'that's reverend Jenny, I know
her'. How wonderful it would be if we could all hear people
shouting or whispering 'that's the work of the Lord, I know the
Lord'. The Lord's work is shown in creation, through the
Spring and Summer blooms that have struggled through the Autumn and
Winter months and have come through the darkness into the warmth and
light - just so they can bloom and be seen, through the eyes of
faith, to glorify our Creator.
Let's take the text for
Pentecost John 14:8 Show
us the Lord. We
all want to see the Lord, to see the truth, goodness and beauty of
the Lord shown through God's creative Spirit, working in each one of
us. When the disciples saw and felt strangely warmed they were
'all amazed'.
Let's try to amaze God
by glorifying, smiling, hugging and appreciating our blessings
instead of moaning and groaning, exploiting and criticising.
We are a team ministry that works, lives and laughs together and at
the same time we are learning to be in communion with God and each
other. The Trinitarian God who does not exist to work
alone. Do not overlook the richness of talents, gifts and
communication and above all revel and delight in the opportunities
of sharing God's love in practical ways. Value what we have
which promotes mission and pray that the Spirit of peace and joy
breaks out in our lives bringing fresh enthusiasm and energy.
Our vision is to open our doors to let Christ in. Thank you for
your support, prayers and concern; for the smiles and hugs; and I
look forward to working with you as a team to spread the delights of
knowing such a loving God with others.
Spirit of a loving God, your love has set me free
As I have walked and struggled through the many storms at
sea
Your earthly life revealed through Jesus showed a way of
life
Your mercy, grace, abounding goodness aids me in my
strife
I heard Your call, felt Your trust in me, patient, faithful
friend
We walk together, holding hands, from the beginning to the
end.
Love and Blessings, From Jenny (x)
